Is There an Isagenix Scam Going On? My Opinion and Isagenix Review…
You probably found this site while doing a web search for ‘Isagenix scam’, ‘Isagenix review’, or ‘Isagenix reviews’… and because of that, I want to make sure you know where this review is coming from.
Everyone hates to get scammed out of their money, and I’m no exception. So, here’s a bit about why I’m writing this so you can know what this Isagenix weight loss review is about.
I’m a long-time health and fitness enthusiast, a life-long athlete, and dedicated to my personal health and wellness.
My degree is in health. I’ve also taught health, exercise, and fitness classes both at the university level and in my own training facilities for years.
Part of my job is to know what’s going on in the health and wellness industry. Including various diet supplement fads and trends, to check them for my clients who might be personally using them.
In addition to my professional interest in health and wellness supplement, I also take nutritional products myself!
How I Came To Try Isagenix Weight Loss Products
Once I hit my mid-thirties, I started trying different supplements that claimed to help the body recuperate from stress and exercise, that helped heal joint injuries, that could help the body deal with stress, and so forth – all in the hopes of alleviating some of the pain and fatigue I was experiencing more and more with my activities and schedule.
I’ve personally tried and researched dozens of different products. Meaning I read labels, looked up customer reviews, checked out ingredients, etc.)
No-ni juice? Did it. Asah-ee berries? Yup. Go-ji and Mango-steen fruit? You bet. Energy pills and drinks? Tons. Various multivitamin and mineral supplements, including pills, powders, and liquids? I’ve tried dozens.
Yet, out of all the products I tried over the years, none of them really made a noticeable and lasting impact on my health. Oh, a few showed some initial promise, but after a few days it would seem to level out, and I’d just chalk it up to the placebo effect.
(Note: Despite that, I still was taking certain basic supplements daily that were part of my longtime regimen – a multivitamin, a B-complex, an antioxidant supplement, a protein supplement, powdered greens, and a joint supplement.)
A Lot of People Sell Isagenix – Does That Mean It’s Good?
So, in my line of work, I kept running across trainers who were selling Isagenix weight loss products.
Now, most trainers sell some sort of nutritional product line, because their clients are going to take something anyway, and you want to be able to offer them something they won’t be wasting their money on.
At first, I didn’t pay much attention, but after the third or fourth trainer that I saw using or endorsing Isagenix, I started to wonder if it was something that might help me.
I started looking up info on the stuff and found a ton of people claiming weight loss stories from taking it.
“That’s great”, I thought, “but it doesn’t help me much in my situation.”
I couldn’t find very much in the way of negative stuff about the company, so that was good – just the usual, “I hate all network marketing companies” stuff (if people only knew – many of the mainstream companies out there either started as network marketing companies, or they have divisions that sell their products via network marketing).
Anyway, the next step was checking out the ingredients. I’ve studied a lot about nutrition and supplements, so I can usually spot a crummy product just by reading the label.
Nothing I found was dubious, so I did a web search to find someone I could order from. I found a distributor and ordered some products, which came to my front door a few days later.
My Experience With The Isagenix Products
That night, I took what I had ordered according to the instructions, stayed up a few hours working and reading, then went to bed.
I slept through the whole night, and that floored me because I usually toss and turn and wake up several times throughout the night.
The reason is that I have so many nagging injuries from a lifetime of abusing my joints, that I have to change positions often to get comfortable.
So, that alone impressed me, but I thought it might just be a fluke. Next night, not so noticeable, but still I slept a lot better than normal. Then, slowly over about a week or so, I noticed a gradual increase in my energy and mental alertness.
Whether it was due to the improved sleep I was getting or the products, I wasn’t sure, so I stopped taking it for a few days and took an over the counter sleep aid to help me sleep.
The results were not the same. I didn’t feel as energetic, nor as alert (but that could have been after-effects of the sleep aid). So, I started taking Isagenix again and felt more rested and felt more energetic after a few days.
Let Me Tell You About My Wife Who Hates Taking Vitamins…
Now, I am constantly trying to get my wife to take better care of herself.
She has a congenital heart arrhythmia, so I am always reminding her to take some standard supplements that are supposed to help with that sort of thing.
But, she hates taking even a single daily multivitamin, so it’s a constant struggle.
However, I wanted to see if she’d experience the same effects from taking the Isagenix weight loss products.
So, I talked her into trying the 30-Day Weight Loss & Wellness Pak.
At first, she balked at the flavor of the Ionix and Cleanse for Life liquids, but she liked the flavor of the shake so she kept taking it.
Two days later out of the blue, she says, “I have more energy since I started taking this stuff.”
Now, we have a new baby and are both career professionals, so we are both worn out most of the time.
She had actually been complaining about being tired a lot and stressed, so that was a really big deal to her.
Now, she gets up every day and makes her own shake or prepares the power in a bottle to take to work and mix.
I’ve never seen her do this before, so I know she must like how she feels now.
But Does Isagenix Help You Lose Weight?
Personally, I can’t speak to that – I eat a very good diet and although I could probably lose a few pounds that’s not why I’m taking it. However, you can see from these photos that people really can lose a lot of weight taking this stuff.
There are a lot more photos of people who have lost weight on Isagenix products; some are people who were in relatively good shape and then got ripped taking it, while others are people who were overweight and then lost a ton while doing it over an extended period of time.
As a fitness expert, I can tell you that the worst thing a person can do is go on a crash diet to lose weight. That sort of diet can put your body into starvation mode, slow your metabolism, and then cause you to gain all the weight back as soon as you start eating your normal diet again.
After looking at how the program works, I can tell you that Isagenix is not a crash diet at all. The way it works is the exact same way I instruct my client to eat to lose weight at a healthy and reasonable pace.
Cut out around 500 calories a day from what your body needs to maintain your current weight, eat sensible meals, and supplement with a good solid protein supplement, or increase your protein intake slightly, to ensure your body doesn’t cannibalize muscle to make up for the reduced calories.
That, in a nutshell, is what the thirty days cleanse allows you to do. The difference is that it makes it a lot easier to do because you don’t have to think so hard about what you need to eat to cut out those 500 calories.
I believe that’s the reason why people are so successful on this diet plan; it takes the guesswork out of modifying your eating habits. Plus, I’ve read the ingredients on the products, and they are designed to provide your body with all the nutrients it requires.
This is obviously important when you’re dieting because you want to be getting all the nutrition you need while still losing weight.
Now, let me also say that I am not a big fan of extremely high protein diets. They are bad for your body, they make you constipated and give you a foul breath and body odor, and they are also hard on your kidneys and liver.
Isagenix is not a high protein diet! The amount of protein in the shakes is adequate for your needs, but not so much that it is unhealthy. Besides that, from what I understand it’s the highest quality whey protein that you can get.
Downsides To Taking Isagenix
Like I mentioned earlier, the taste. Some people will not like the taste of the drinks, especially the Ionix and Cleanse. However, the amount you take is so minuscule it isn’t a big deal. Personally, I think the shakes taste delicious; the chocolate tasted like pudding to me.
But, my wife says the Isagenix Snacks! taste like chocolate chalk. I’d probably not mind them, but that’s just what she said. Since they’re a high-protein chewable wafer, that doesn’t surprise me. The idea is not to taste good, but to give you something to snack on when you get cravings so you’re not so hungry.
And, from what I understand the Isadelight chocolates are very good, and you can eat a few a day while doing the cleanse, so that’s good news.
Other things: I have heard that you might get constipated when cleansing, so they give you some herbal flush pills in case that happens. I suggest you take them on weekends since there’s nothing worse than having the urge to go when you are in the middle of a meeting or dealing with a customer. Not trying to be crass, but that’s just a fact of taking an herbal to cleanse.
The regular Cleanse for Life liquid is very gentle though – I take it every single day. So, don’t worry that you’ll be running to the bathroom all the time while you’re taking this stuff; I don’t have that problem and you probably won’t either.
Is The Isagenix Opportunity A Scam?
If you haven’t figured it out by now, I decided to start selling Isagenix to my clients after I had such a positive experience with it. Before I made that decision, I checked out the company, the compensation plan, and asked Isagenix distributors what their experience was with the company. In addition, as I said before I looked online to try to find any negative reviews of the company.
I found that the company was very solid financially, and also very fair to its distributors. Their pay plan is a lot more attractive than others I’ve seen, although at first, I didn’t understand it very well. I just wanted to make sure they weren’t ripping people off, and I didn’t find any evidence of it.
Granted, I am used to investing tens of thousands of dollars to start traditional businesses, so spending $197 (about what it costs to get a month’s worth of the 30-Day Weight Loss & Wellness Pak and to enroll as a distributor) is really not a big deal to me.
But, I can see how the average person might be leery of spending $200 to start a home business, so I wanted to be sure it was legitimate. Since the company offers a money back guarantee, I figured they at least stand behind their products, so that was a good sign.
I received very positive feedback from distributors, which sometimes can be just sales and recruiting talk. So, I searched around and still came back with very little in the way of negative talk about the company.
Plus, I met some people who were making very good money with the company, that never intended to make a career of it when they first tried the products. That’s very interesting to me, because when someone likes something so much they start telling their friends, that speaks volumes as to its quality.
